This blog is intended for Salesforce Admins. This is where I collect valueable tips and tutorials for you.
About the writer
My name is Stefan Schellings. I am a Dutch Salesforce Consultant. I have been working as a Consultant since 2020. Before that I have worked as a Salesforce Sales Cloud key user and Admin since 2016.
How I came to know Salesforce
In 2016 as a Sales agent and key user I was offered to take on the role of Administrator for my employer's Sales Cloud org. The power to control and shape the tools I used for my daily work was an opportunity I took with both hands. I had no IT background, so that made me a textbook Accidental Admin.
With the help of Trailhead, Salesforce's own free and engaging learning platform, I learned how I could customize practically anything I wanted without having to know how to code.
This way I learned to customize the application to keep supporting complex business processes, such as contract renewal, as they evolved. After some practice I was even able to design and build flows to support contract mutations, which previously had not been supported by the app.
Your role as an admin
When you are new to the Salesforce ecosystem, company's consultancy partner, who usually have also implemented your Salesforce org, can support you with alle needs you knowledge and experience does not cover and they could help you in your learning journey.
There are many customization tasks that you can learn to do by youself quickly and easily. Considering that hiring a consultant will rarely cost less that € 1000 per day, you can save serious money by doing customizations in-house.
In my blogs I will share tips from my own experience as a consultant and links to tutorials and documentations that have been created by many other Salesforce Experts that I found helpful. And of course also tutorials that I created for you.
